Jesus Christ-Take the Stand
A battle ensues whenever the enemy brings an accusation or an "observation" against you. An especially sensitive area is the one concerning your faith and walk with the Lord. Jesus, Himself, was accused of having a demon. He didn't bite the bait, and try to show His accusers that He was who He said He was, because He knew that His Father had given Him the power to raise up and to throw down, and that He could use it if, and only if , His Father directed Him too. If He didn't, than the accusations would have to rest, and false accusations would have to stand, even if the accusers felt justified and "sure" of their accusations. He knew that at the right time, His Father would vindicate Him.
So it goes with us, his own. As the enemy can't gain ground in other areas, he will try and make us doubt our sonship with our Father. I heard a man say once that if satan can't make you give up your salvation, that he will try to take away the assurance of your salvation. And I'm not talking about "once saved; always saved." I'm talking about the fact that you know you are His, and that He is the One keeping you as you stay opened to hearing and doing His will.
Satan will want to make you doubt your sonship just for the torment of it, if nothing else. Below is something I wrote as a result of him trying to do that to me this morning. I was really walking a precipice over it, and almost fell for his bait, which would have resulted in ramifications that would have been irreversible. Even as I began, I wrote something entirely different, as the Lord, through me "took the stand" on my behalf, exposing the lies of the enemy, for my protection. How does He do that? It is just amazing!!!! The following is what "He wrote":
There is nothing we can give as proof of our being in Christ. We can point to no fruit to "prove" our kinship with Him. We dare not defend ourselves by ourselves. "A champion comes to fight, " as He only approaches the bench on our behalf. We are only one with Him as He claims us as His own. We have no other defense. If He is for us, who can be against us? We do not stand on our own "proofs" and dare not. Whether or not we have the Spirit of Christ in us, is "proven" only by faith that tells us He gave it to us when we opened ourselves up to Him. He also tells us that He has put His love in our heart. If you can’t see it, I can’t help it. But, we know, that it’s in there, by faith in what He has told us. "If you are the Son of God, come down from that cross," said the enemy through man. He is still trying to make God’s men and women prove themselves by themselves. We dare not succumb to this temptation. If we do, it will have no end, but to trap and ensnare, raising the standard of proof higher and higher, and bringing doubt and fear with each "proving." "Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things unseen."
