Journeying to the Holy City

Let's look at a Christmas song in a new and different way, from a spiritual point of view.

Oh,come all ye faithful, joyful and triumphant,
Oh, come ye, Oh come ye, to Bethlehem.
Come and behold Him, born the King of Angels.
Oh, come let us adore Him, Oh come let us adore Him, Oh come let us adore Him-
Christ the Lord.

The ones who are being called to "come" here are those who are faithful, joyful and triumphant. They are full of faith, or faithful. They are triumphant because they have let Christ purge the old from them, and be renewed with the new on the inside. They have let Him work by means of sorrow, tribulation, and trials in their lives, and let Him get what He wanted from them, moving towards the place that He, Himself is in-that of having "overcome the world." In that way, they are triumphant in this victory He has won for them. Then, they are filled with joy, and even before this process is complete, knowing the outcome before them, and because they know God will be glorified, as a result of this process.
And who do these ones "come to?" Do they go to a place called Bethlehem, where Jesus was born? If we went there today, would we see Him? No, they go to "the House of Bread," which is the meaning of the word Bethlehem. Jesus said, "I am the Bread of Life." These overcoming ones, not only come there, they stay there, as they've learned there is no other sustenance to fill them than the very Life of who Jesus is. This Bethlehem is a place in the spirit where He is; it is the promised land of milk and honey where God lives, a place where His broken and contrite ones can "eat of Him, and drink of Him" without limit. It is known by other names too-Mt. Zion and Jerusalem.
Adoring Him is the automatic response from those who live there with Him, and see who He is  more and more, as they let themselves be swallowed up in Him.

Let's see past the baby in a manger. Let's see Christ who is our all in all, and worship Him in spirit and in truth! He is a victorious King of Kings, who has fulfilled everything, and who fills everything!!! Go there. Come there. Eat there. Drink there. Adore Him!!!
