The Move of God

(To those who participated last time and to anyone who is interested, you may want to read any comments you may have missed from the last post. There were some who posted at the tail end who the Lord gave much insight. Also, I have posted some final comments concerning the Lord's imparting His understanding to us. Awesome!)

And now, Our Father: Thank you for opening up our spirits to hear from You concerning Your heart's desires and Your understanding. Each and every "piece" you reveal serves to get us closer to You, and in making us one with Your will. We desire Your will alone. Get our fleshly will out of the way, Lord, as we seek you this day. Disable our minds from being the starting point from which we try to hear You, but let it come from Your spirit to ours and then express that communication with the minds You've given us. We want to know you more and more. We know You are truth, and that true understanding is from You alone. You have told us that our own carnal understanding is fleshly and evil. We don't want Your truth to be filtered through that mess. What a perversion that would be. Give us boldness and courage, though, to proclaim freely what You do give us and not to shrink back. We trust You in all of this, Father, for You have given us Your Spirit of Truth to lead, guide, and protect us.

Father-We, as people, have come up with a term called "a move of God," and we have applied many definitions and descriptions to this term. We all probably would define it differently. When you "move" Lord, what is that? How does that manifest? What do You move on? How do You move? Where do You move?
Does everyone "see" it when You move? Do you move openly? Some people call these "moves" waves. Some call them renewal or revival. Some even, the wind of Your spirit. What happens when you move? Again, Lord, we seek Your heart, and ask for Your revelation and understanding on this. We love you Lord. And we wait.

Again, posting for this blog will remain open for 2 weeks.

First got words such as "breaking through," intervention, and rescuing. Then the scripture of the Spirit of God that hovered over the face of the waters during creation. Then where the waters were stirred at the pool of Bethesda. Finally, I got a "picture" of water rushing so powerfully. It was like I was on the side of a dam, watching behind the railing. The floodgates had been opened, and the force and noise of the water was so great, that it just stunned me, rendering me speechless. Quieting me. I know there is alot in all of these words, scriptures and images the Lord is saying relating to "the move of God," but I don't yet fully see.

Luke 13:20,21-"Again he asked," What shall I compare the Kingdom of God to? It is like yeast that a woman took and mixed into a large amount of flour until it worked all through the dough."

Daniel 2: 31-35-"You looked, O king, and there before you stood a large statue-an enormous dazzling statue, awesome in appearance. The head of the statue was made of pure gold, its chest and arms of silver, its belly and thighs of bronze, its legs of iron, its feet partly of baked iron and partly of baked clay. While you were watching a rock was cut out, but not by human hands. It struck the statue on its feet of iron and clay and smashed them. Then the iron, the clay, the bronze, the silver and the gold were broken to pieces at the same time, and became like chaff on the threshing floor in the summer. The wind swept them away without leaving a trace. But the rock that struck the statue filled the whole earth."

This is how God works in individual lives, and this is a move of God.

As I sit here and gaze over the scriptures of Luke 17:20-21,23,and to you patti verse 26-27 regarding the picture of rushing water, flood gates. Your blog is breaking through, intervening and rescuing all they whom seeketh to hear from the Lord our God. Finally to Tom John 6:26-29 reveals the work of God given unto man to do. For work means something else than labor.

Will we see God move? Many do – but how we interpret what we see depends on the condition of our own heart. The Pharisees saw Jesus and saw a threat. Thomas believed and saw his Lord and his God. (Jn. 20:28)

Two words that have fallen almost completely from our vocabulary are holiness and consecration. Until our lives are truly set apart to do only His will, we will continue to use religion to bolster our self-life and our “Christianity” will be a mere supplement to our already too-busy lives. “Without holiness no one will see the Lord.” (Heb. 12:14)

God writes His laws on our hearts. (Heb. 8:10) When He moves it is first in the hearts of His people. And it will bring forth a work of repentance – a true change toward Godliness (being like God and Christ). Those who will not totally surrender to this interior working of the Holy Spirit of God will be threatened by the next move of God because none of the fleshly ways of practicing “church” will be acceptable in the day of His visitation.

In response to what Tom got from the Lord about the "yeast," I got that the yeast is the Lord Himself, who will "take over" the dough-us, His Body, with Himself. We are beginning to look like Him, as He is kneaded into us, and as we become full of Him.

I would like to add to William's confirmation as well. This website is a breaking through for all who will receive of the Lord's provision here. This website is not about finding knowledge for knowledge's sake - it's about gaining revelation from God Himself so that we might all be truly equipped to do the work of the ministry.

This blogsite is not a destination but a stepping stone. What is gained here is things that can - and MUST - be transferred to our face-to-face fellowship with other believers.

What is gained here is like first down passes and running plays - it is not a touch down nor winning the game. But if we will not take what we glean here, it is only an incomplete pass, a stopped play or a fumble where God will pick us up and graciously set us up to try again as often as necessary to fulfill His will, to complete His idea of how the "game" ought to be "played." Please don't miss the language of analogy and parable - it falls short of the real thing!

The Lord gave me these words when I was meditating on what Bro. Neil said. My first response was one of resistance, which proved faulty. I let the Lord work His understanding in me about this.
Sobering. It refers to both questions we've asked Him.

Hear a STRONG word of the Lord: You WILL suffer persecution and rejection for the words I will have you speak in face-to-face encounters. The American church is in ruins, and I will use my end-time sons and daughters to tear down and , if hearts are receptive, to build up. "Whatever I speak to you in secret, speak from the rooftops." You can't hide behind your written words or allow men to intimidate you any longer. I will go with you, says the Lord. I am going to plunder, or make a move to destroy what is not of Me and My Kingdom. I will supplant those things, those idols, those values and lusts of the flesh that are dominating my House. It lies in ruins. I want to use you to tear-down and destroy with the words I tell you to speak, and with the understanding that I've given you. To whom much is given, much it required. I'm advancing with iron feet to tear down and to build up My Fathers's house. The time has come. Will you be a part of this demolition army? Count the cost, for it wll be very costly to your present way of life. The backlash will be staggering. You will feel like you are reeling to and fro like an earthquake. Whatever can be shaken, will be shaken. Let judgement begin with the house of God.

As I looked to the LORD concerning HIS MOVING on the earth for HIS ETERNAL PURPOSE, I believe HE led me to the following verses and gave me some understanding and insight into HIS WAY of ‘moving’.

    I Peter1: 20-21 states:
Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation. For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of GOD spake as they were ‘moved’ by the Holy Spirit.

In the Greek, this word ‘moved’ means: carried along, borne up, lifted up, brought.

We find this same Greek word translated ‘carry’ in John 21:18, which states:
Verily, verily, I say to you, when you were young, you girded yourself, and walked where you would; but when you shall be old, you shall stretch forth your hands, and another shall gird you, and ‘carry’ you where you would not.

The following verses contain a Hebrew word that conveys the same meaning of the Greek word mentioned in the two previous verses.

Gen. 7:17 And the flood was forty days upon the earth; and the waters increased, and ‘bare’ up the ark and it was lifted up above the earth.

Exodus 19:4 You have seen what I did to the Egyptians, and how I ‘bare’ you on eagles’ wings, and brought you unto MYSELF.

Numbers 6:26 The LORD ‘lift up’ HIS countenance upon you, and give you peace.

Deut. 1:31 And in the wilderness, where you have seen how that the LORD your God ‘bare’ you, as a man does ‘bear’ his son, in all the way that you went, until you came into this place.

Deut. 32:11-12 As an eagle stirs up her nest, flutters over her young, spreads abroad her wings, takes them, ‘bears’ them on her wings; so the LORD alone did lead him (HIS people) …

Isaiah 40:11 He shall feed His flock like a shepherd: He shall gather the lambs with His arm, and ‘carry’ them in His bosom, and shall gently lead those that are with young.

Isaiah 53:4 Surely He has ‘borne’ our griefs, …

Isaiah 53:12c … and He ‘bare’ the sin of many, …

How beautiful is this picture of the ‘move of GOD’! HIS might, HIS sufficiency, HIS determination, HIS tenderness, HIS willingness, and the thoughts and intents of HIS heart are clearly displayed in each verse. HE gives the impression of ONE who is ‘moving’ toward a predetermined goal that has really already been accomplished. HE is so confident and sure as HE ‘moves’.

Therefore, nothing and no one can stop HIS ‘moving’. And nothing and no one can produce HIS ‘move’ on the earth … except HIM!

I believe, as we rest in the knowledge and understanding, which He desires to give us of HIMSELF; and of HIS sufficiency and HIS accomplished work, we, too, will be ‘borne up’, ‘carried along’, ‘lifted up’, ‘brought’, and ‘moved’ by HIM … when HE ‘moves’.

I pondered on the question of, "How does God move?" for almost 2 weeks and this Scripture came to me. Matt 11:2-6 And when John had heard in prison about the works of Christ, he sent two of his disciples and said to Him, "Are You the Coming One, or do we look for another?" Jesus answered and said to them, "Go and tell John the things which you hear and see: "The blind see and the lame walk; the lepers are cleansed and the deaf hear; the dead are raised up and the poor have the gospel preached to them.
And blessed is he who is not offended because of Me."
When I see a child reach out for Jesus for the first time or see a sinner fall to his kness in heart felt repentance. When I see someone rise off their bed of sickness in faith and the Church come together in one accord or a person out beating the streets for the sake of the gospel, I see God move. When I hear someone praising God because of their joy of the Lord or a person not waver in faith because of trial, I see God move. When I see a brother thank another brother for his forgiveness or a Christian give out their last dollar to a homeless person, I see God move. To me, God moves in many ways and I see Him move in many circumstances. To see God move, we do not need some "deep revelation" or an actual miracle performed right before our eyes, all we need to do is open our hearts to Him and then we will see Him move.

Yes, God moves just as Betty described, carrying, bearing, lifting up.

    Amen to each comment above!

I've been studying in Genesis. In Genesis 1:2, "the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters."

This move was a hovering/fluttering that Matthew Henry describes as "The Spirit of God was the first mover: He moved upon the face of the waters. When we consider the earth without form and void, methinks it is like the valley full of dead and dry bones. Can these live? Can this confused mass of matter be formed into a beautiful world? Yes, if a spirit of life from God enter into it, Eze. 37:9. Now there is hope concerning this thing; for the Spirit of God begins to work, and, if he work, who or what shall hinder? God is said to make the world by his Spirit, Ps. 33:6; Job 26:13; and by the same mighty worker the new creation is effected. He moved upon the face of the deep, as Elijah stretched himself upon the dead child,—as the hen gathers her chickens under her wings, and hovers over them, to warm and cherish them, Mt. 23:37,—as the eagle stirs up her nest, and flutters over her young (it is the same world that is here used), Deu. 32:11."

Indeed, God moves upon the confused soul just as he did upon the confused matter and brings light and eternal life.

Often we see God move, as described by Chris. Often God moves in ways we do not see, as He did in preparing Sarah's elderly body for Isaac's birth during the years between God's promise to Abram and Isaac's birth. See Genesis 13:14-16, 15:2-5 and 17:17, 19, 21.

When Abraham sent his servant to get a wife for Isaac, I believe it was a move of God that placed Rebekah at the well, and that gave her and her family the mind to allow her to leave with a stranger to go to a strange land. See Genesis 24:15, 48-51.

God moves to replace hearts of stone with hearts of flesh. Eze 11:19-20 and 36:26-27. He moves to guide us and discipline us, as our shepherd with His rod and staff.

Our God is an awesome God! He moves in ways we can see and comprehend and in ways we cannot see or comprehend.

Thank you for all of your comments, for I have learned from each of them.

Thank you, Patti, for your letter to all of us this morning. It was very, very edifying.

Hallelujah! We do not look for another!! Thank you Chris for sharing this verse in your comment. What a rest! HE is come! HE is here! And HE is moving!

Here’s, hopefully, another aspect in understanding and appreciating our wonderful ‘Moving GOD’ .

Due to the fact that there are so many ‘movements’ of men (winds of doctrine) in Christendom today, I’m so grateful to THE LORD for ‘moving’ on Paul to write Eph.4. I’ll only quote a portion of the chapter.

    Verse 14 states:
“That we may no longer be children, tossed here and there by waves, and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, by craftiness in deceitful scheming;”

    Paul goes on to say:
“But speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in all aspects into HIM, who is the HEAD, even CHRIST, from whom the whole body, being fitted and held together by that which every joint supplies, according to the proper working of each individual part, causes the growth of the body for the building up of itself in love.”

Hallelujah again!! As CHRIST, the HEAD (THE ONE WHO IS COME, not another) … neither a wind of doctrine, nor a movement of a man …flows/moves/carries HIS life through each of us, HE causes the growth of HIS body for the building up of itself in love.” Surely, this growth, which only HE can bring about, is indeed a ‘MOVE’ of GOD.
